Paramount+ is sponsoring Inter Milan jersey for the last two matches

The last two Inter Milan matches of the 2022/23 season will feature the Paramount+ logo on the front of the shirt. CBS’s paid streaming service is home to both Serie A and the UEFA Champions League for the American public. With a match against Torino in the Serie A final this weekend, this means viewers in the United States will see the Paramount+ logo while watching on Paramount+.

On a larger scale, however, the Paramount+ logo will be on Inter’s shirt in the UEFA Champions League final. Again, the Champions League TV program ran almost exclusively through Paramount+ this season. Even though the Finale itself is on both CBS and Paramount+, it’s still a bit odd to see an American broadcaster’s logo on a shirt. This would be like the Peacock logo on the Arsenal kit or Atletico Madrid with ESPN on the kit.

Of course, Paramount+ isn’t just available to the American public. The service launched in Italy less than a year ago. It has no football content yet. For example, coverage of the Champions League is from Amazon, Sky Sports and Mediaset. That said, the service launched in September 2022 with more than 8,000 hours of content. That was all the movies, TV shows and general entertainment that US users of Paramount+ also get.

Paramount+ prevents blank shirt for Inter Milan

In recent weeks, Inter played with a blank shirt. The club’s first sponsor was DigitalBits, a cryptocurrency company. However, missed payments on that sponsorship forced Inter to remove the logo from his shirt. That is why Inter did not have a sponsor on the front of its shirt in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, the Coppa Italia Final and recent Serie A matches.

Inter is not the only club in Italy with this problem. Roma replaced DigitalBits with the city’s historic abbreviation “SPQR,” a tribute to the ancient Roman Republic. Inter Milan signed a three-year deal with DigitalBits in a deal worth around $50 million.

Paramount+ may be based in the United States. Still, it probably took the right time to get a discount on the shirt of a big club. Unfortunately, there is currently no information on how much Paramount is paying for this. Although it’s only for two games, one of them is Inter’s biggest game in 13 years. It would be interesting to see the Paramount+ logo on historical photos of this game later on.
