In Match 66 of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) to win by 4 wickets at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Friday.
Rajasthan chose to bowl first and showed disciplined bowling performance with Navdeep Saini take a 3 wicket draw and Trent Bolt And Adam Zampa make valuable contributions.
Punjab, who were clueless in the first 10 overs, somehow managed to put up a competitive total of 187/5 fueled by impressive blows from Sam Curran (49), Jitish Sharma (44), and Shahruk Khan (41).
In response, Rajasthan showed their decisiveness. Yashasvi Jaiswal played brilliant innings, scoring 50 runs off 36 balls, 8 of which were fours. Likewise, Devdutt Padikkal also played a vital stroke, scoring 51 runs off 30 balls, hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes. Powerful striker Shimron Hetmyer provided the finishing touch, hitting 46 runs off 28 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes, as the Royals chased after target with 6 wickets in hand and kept themselves alive in the play-off race.
